Tis the season to be jolly!

Its only 5 sleeps till christmas :)

I am actually excited for once....which I have not been in years! Lots too look forward to it seems :) Its really nice to be home in cold cold Port Glasgow for a wee bit too :) missed my mum!

Zest: Corporate Identity

Im actually quite happy with this work :) I don't know if my lectures would say the same? But I am pleased with the end result.

Rage Against the Machine

This Rage Against the Machine project aimed at provoking people to think about energy consumption. I wanted to show how many items and appliances that people have unnecessarily switched on in their houses at the one time, wasting energy.

I am undecided whether I am entirely happy with these designs. Hopefully I will be able to go back and have another look at them sometime.

Bimini

Ok so here is my typeface, Bimini, along with the promotional mailers I designed. The idea of part of my mailer is a 'kit' to encourage the audience to enter a competition to win ' Bimini' by trying out recreating something similar yourself 'D.I.Y' and sending it to be posted on my website. I also designed some postcards and a box/envelope to put all the 'kit' in when posting to designers, agencies and companies. I was slighty worried about this item and felt it let my over concept down. My lecturers agreed, however they really liked my overall idea and all the other items I presented. So I guess that good? I am going to work on the mailer box and try to produce something a lot stronger :)

Experimental Typography

So 3rd year has begun :) I have been working on a brief that has basically let me make a whole lot of mess with as many materials as I can find (as long as they are white). I wasn't too keen at first to be honest but as I started to work I came up with lots of ideas and actually had some fun.

These are just a few of the ideas I came up with :)

I MISS MY DOMINIQUE

I feel it has come to the time when I am extremely distressed! haha

My best friend Dominique selfishly went to America for 3 months at the end of May. I have missed her a lot but I have been keeping myself amused. I am very happy to be able to say that she will be home in 15 days!! :D cant wait! 

thennnnnn 5 days later we are going to Spain! WOOP!

Summer '09

Heyyyy

I thought I would make a post as I have neglected my blog for sometime now. To be honest this is due to the face I have not done anything very interesting. I have spent a lot of time with family as I am living at home in Port Glasgow for summer. 

I also spent a few weeks in Carlisle with friends and been on a few day trips here and there. 

I have just started working on re-designing my website so watch this space....haha x

Annual Report Brief

okkkkk so these are the designs I did using the images that I posted a couple of weeks ago. I had them taken and edited to use for a brief thats have been on going for a while now in uni. There was a choice whether to do Art Direction or Annual Report. I stupidly chose to do the annual report for and organisation called 'The Ramblers' Association'.

now for the bad bit...

I really liked my images and designs I used them in. I felt I had a not bad to good crit after the hand in. However I got a not so good (i feel) mark :( i was given 55%. Which is still respectable, however, the comments I recieved from the tutors seem much more deserving over a higher mark.

To be totally honest I am just quite annoyed with the way things are being run at the moment and would like some changes....but oh well!

Mapping Brief

This is my design for our uni mapping brief. I didn't really like this brief but once I got going on screen I kind of enjoyed it a little. I got 55% for this. Im not really happy with that but whatcha gona do?! passing is the main thing I guess.

My First 1st ♥

Hi hi hi :) its been a while since I have made a new post :) So I thought I would sort that out with the work I have done for my latest uni brief.

I am pretty happy with the work I did for this Homebase 'Grow Your Own' brief! The lecturers gave me 72%!!!! 

Which makes me even happier :) that is my best mark to date so on wards and up wards hopefully?!

Books books booksssssss

These are my book cover designs for our latest uni brief :] I got 65% so I quite pleased! We has to design for an academic series called 'A Very Short Introduction' and also design a cover for a fiction book. I really like my 'A Bit of Earth' design but want to work on the backs of my series covers :)
